A survey conducted by market intelligence and strategy consulting company Creative Strategies asked customers for the iPhone 8 feature that they are most excited about, and the answer is definitely not many would expect.
The Creative Strategies survey also gauged the interest in the iPhone 8 among potential customers as well as the likelihood of them purchasing the upcoming premium Apple smartphone.
The Most Interesting iPhone 8 Feature, Survey Says
The iPhone 8 is expected to have a nearly bezel-less OLED display with higher resolution, the Face ID facial recognition system, and new color options, but none of these landed in the top three among the features that customers were most interested in for the iPhone 8.
The top answer in the survey, chosen by nearly 48 percent of correspondents, was wireless charging, followed in second place by quick charging, which was picked by 44 percent of the people who answered.
The result is unexpected, considering that wireless charging is rarely used in Android devices that support the feature. Quick charging coming in second place paints a picture that people interested in the iPhone 8 are very particular on how the device’s battery will hold up, especially with the several powerful but battery-draining features that are expected for the smartphone.
Grabbing third place in the survey was an updated camera, chosen by 42 percent of correspondents. The iPhone camera has already seen marked improvements, especially with the dual-lens camera of the iPhone 7 Plus, but additional tweaks such as better low-light performance would make the component even more valuable to users.
Will You Buy The iPhone 8?
Most reports claim that the iPhone 8 price will range from $1,000 to $1,200, depending on the storage option chosen for the device.
Unsurprisingly, about 40 percent of the correspondents in another survey responded that if the iPhone 8 turns about to be too expensive, they will probably not purchase the smartphone. About 25 percent, meanwhile, said that if the iPhone 8 price is too high, they would probably purchase another iPhone model.
The interest in the iPhone 8, meanwhile, varies largely among the types of customers. Overall, about 35 percent of correspondents are not interested at all in the upcoming device, with about 47 percent of Samsung smartphone owners choosing that option. However, about 38 percent of early tech adopters said that they were extremely interested in the iPhone 8, the most out of all customer types. In addition, about 27 percent of current iPhone owners and about 30 percent of customers planning to upgrade within the next six months are somewhat interested in the iPhone 8.
