The next-generation Jeep Wrangler, due out this fall, will be new from the wheels up, but if images posted on a Jeep fan forum this week are accurate, the 2018 model looks like little more than a face-lift.

The images of a JL Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon show Jeep designers didn’t veer too far off the path of the Wrangler’s unique design cues. In fact, all the cosmetic changes are subtle ones.

Elsewhere, the windshield shows more of a rake and two hinges on the bottom, which means, like all Wranglers now and before, the windshield can be folded forward. The front bumper is less bulky and more sculpted, and there are accent lines running from the front doors to the back of the vehicle at door handle height.

According to the report on the Jeep Wrangler forum, there are dozens of other design and engineering changes coming on the 2018 Wrangler.

Fiat Chrysler did not respond to requests for comment on details reported on the forum.

The venerable Wrangler was the third-most popular Jeep sold in the U.S. in 2016, behind the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee, but consistently boasts one of the auto industry’s most loyal and passionate owner bases.

Automotive News previously reported that the next Wrangler will continue to offer solid axles, but that it will lighter and more fuel efficient than the current model.

Fiat Chrysler is retooling the Toledo, Ohio, plant in which the Wrangler is built for the new model. The new Wrangler is expected to get weight-saving aluminum doors, hood and tailgate, as well as new powertrains.
