Facebook Users Getting Logged Out Automatically: Technical Error To Blame?
Did you encounter issues with your Facebook account earlier today? Did you get automatically logged out of your account?
If you answered yes to both the questions, then you were not alone as many Facebook users faced this bizarre problem. Close on the heels of a glitch that led to Gmail users getting signed out of their accounts, Facebook users had to grapple with the same problem.
Facebook users encountered a bizarre issue where they were unable to log in to their account. The issue was due to a technical error and has now been resolved by the social networking site.

On Feb. 24, several Facebook users were greeted with a warning that the account was possibly compromised when they attempted to log in.
“Someone may have logged into your account. In order to keep your information secure, we’ve locked your account. Before we can unlock it, please verify your identity and change your password,” read the message.
The users were sent password reset emails per reports. However, this did not rectify the problem for all. Many Facebook users took to social media to express their concerns and took reprieve in the fact that they were not alone in this predicament.
Some users of the social networking site made no bones about expressing their ire on rival social media platforms such as Twitter.
What Caused The Issue?
It is believed that a technical error in Facebook’s system was to blame for the issue. Thankfully, it was not a security breach. User accounts were never at risk, which will come as a relief to many.
The latest outage comes close on the heels of the issue where Facebook users could not see their News Feed.
However, Facebook has now resolved the logging in issue and acknowledged that it was caused by a technical error. It assured users that it was working on removing the backlog of people who tried to reset their password post the outage.
“Earlier today an error in one of our systems designed to help prevent suspicious account access sent a small set of people to our account recovery flow unnecessarily. We have fixed the issue and are in the process of clearing the affected accounts from this recovery flow. We apologize for any inconvenience,” noted the company.
News that the technical glitch has been smoothly resolved by Facebook will be welcomed by users who were worried about security being compromised.
Facebook users were not alone in their plight as even Gmail users experienced a glitch the same day. However, Google assured users that they had nothing to worry about and it was merely a glitch as well.
